This song was sent up on the Voyager 1 spacecraft to convey the emotion of loneliness to extraterrestrial life. Blind Willie Johnson died of tuberculosis without a cent to his name, and yet so many years later his music is hurtling through space, and heard on the internet countless times. the song speaks volumes through using quite tones and no words except for what might be construed as `why`or "alone". In my version I tried to recreate the improvised feel and strong emotion felt in the original, which I could never do justice.
